Is it selfish?

If I feel deeply that something is unsafe but promote it because its the popular accepted opinion. Like if i believe that vaccines are linked to potentially bad outcomes to promote vaccines because ide like to prevent my kids from catching things but dont want to vaccinate my kids and because i dont need the drama. Same with other things like if i know info of how to help someone but to hold back from sharing because maybe itl take away from me in some theoretical way lol is this selfish?
