Birth Story ๐
I woke up on June 12th, 39 weeks exactly to dark red blood, I had been losing pieces of my mucus plug so I thought I was having my "bloody show" but I went into my doctor just in case. They said it was caused from sex the night before. They attempted to check my cervix but I have a super high cervix so they couldn't feel it.
Me and my SO decided that it would be best if I stayed with my parents until the baby is born so that I was only a 10 minutes from the hospital instead of a hour, thank god I did that!
My step mom being the baby crazy woman she is, had me doing everything to jump start my labor. We walked for miles, I ate every spicy food known to man, pineapple, bounced on my birthing ball. You name it I did it. She exhausted me. ๐๐ Except for castor oil. No way.
My SO wasn't planning on coming back until that Friday but I talked him into coming to stay with me the night of the 13th, thank god for that also. I started having contractions at 6 that evening they were intense but they weren't consistent enough for me to think it was actual labor. At 11:30 my step mom and dad went to bed, me and my SO went to bed. I woke up at 12:15 and in 45 minutes my contractions went from inconsistent to 2 minutes apart and 1.5 minutes long and they were BRUTAL. I timed 10 of them before I woke my parents up and they immediately were like no more waiting, we're going now.
We got our stuff and headed out. Before I even got to our vehicle I was vomiting. I'd never seen my dad so white in my life, he was just worried about his baby girl. The ride there was pretty intense to, hazard lights and 90 mile a hour.
We got there and they immediately put me in a delivery room and checked me. Once again they couldn't feel my cervix and to all my embarrassment they put me doggy style and that was the only way they would get to it. I was 4 centimeters and 100% effaced. They let me get in the shower and that helped my contractions so much. By 6 am they checked me again, I was at 7.5 and I was done. I was so exhausted so they let me have a epidural. I felt like such a pansy cause I made it that far without it. I regret it so much now.
At 7:30they said i was 10cm and it was time to push. I was so scared. Another reason I regret the epidural is because I felt everything any way. I pushed my hardest for 2.5 hours and my little man was born at 9:56 am. Very minor tearing. I did pull every muscle in my neck. But my gosh he I was so worth it. He was 7 pounds 11 ounces and 20 inches long. Absolute perfection. ๐๐
