5weeks and cramping on one side?

Question

I'm 5 weeks and 6 days and just today started feeling cramping on my right side. The cramping didn't last long but happened a few times throughout the day. 
Is this a sign of ectopic pregnancy???

Just had my first ultrasound yesterday at 6 weeks 4 days. I told my doctor about the sharp pain I was feeling on my left side that literally woke me up out of my sleep. She checked the left ovary and it was a cyst on it. She stated that a cyst develops on the ovary that ovulated and it helps to produce progesterone for the baby. After the placenta starts to grow at 10 weeks is when the cyst will go away. Hope this helps and it is completely normally. I'm so glad she explained it to me and now I am more comfortable about the sharp temporary pain.

from what I've read it's just the uterus expanding for pregnancy, and by the 7th week mine subsided. check with your doctor to be sure though
