Are you a nurse? Did you ever want to be a doctor instead? Why or why not?

Just out of curiousity..
I plan on going to medical school and becoming a surgeon. But I've always wondered...do some nurses want to become doctors? Or wanted to at first?

I'm going to school to become a nurse and I definitely want to become a surgeon. I figure nursing would get me ready and I can practice while I'm working as a nurse and go to school on my off days to become a surgeon. 
I was watching a nurse show (reality one in a hospital based on their nurses) where a nurse actually did it. He was a nurse for like 5 years and went to school at night but became a surgeon

Never wanted to be a doctor. Doctoring and nursing are very different professions IMO

Negative. I always wanted to be a nurse. I wanted the patient relationship, the family relationship. No offense, but some dr are just so impersonal sometimes. I love my job and luckily I work with some really good Dr. I'm a cardiac nurse so we have a lot of CABG patients and let's be honest, cardiac surgeons are some of the worst with bedside manner so it's important to me to be able to translate what the dr just told them.

Omg. The thought of having to get through med school while nursing makes me want to cry! 
All the nurses I know want to be PAs, cnps, or midwives.

Nope. I couldn't handle someone dying that I was taking care of. I'd cry and be sad all the time! The things nurses go through, and the pay isn't even that great most of the time.
