As a first time mom I was terrified of giving birth. From the long labor to pain of an epidural. I had no idea what was going to happen.. On July 5th at 1700 I was admitted to be induced. From then every 4 hours I was given cytotec to thin my cervix. Normally for a first time mom they give 6 doses. For me on the other hand I had 2 doses and went into full blown labor! At 0730 on July 6th I was at 4cm and my doctor came in to break my water! By 0845 I was getting my epidural.. the contractions weren't too bad but I knew if I didn't get it now I wouldn't be able to get it. From 0900 to 1300 I was a dilated a cm each hour on the hour! Around 1315 my heart rate dropped along with my blood pressure. This caused my daughters heart rate to drop drastically. The nurses all rushed in to get me prepared for an emergency c-section. One of the nurses decided to check to see if baby's head was positioned properly to vaginally deliver. To everyone's surprise she was positioned perfectly! As soon as my doctor ran in I started to push. In less than 3 minutes my daughter was born!
