I noticed that a lot of people in Washington are friends with their political nemesis. For instance, Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was famously very close with the late Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia.

I have a difficult time being friends with people who fall on the opposite end of the spectrum as me. and by that I mean the alt right and trump supporters. I don't have an issue with republicans in general. I just have a problem with the people who support and enable dangerous politics and policies.

For instance, I don't have an issue with people who are republicans for fiscal reasons. But I literally can't associate myself with someone who voted for trump for the wall or the Muslim ban.
