Cramps?

Question

Hormonal BC has never agreed with me. I want to get the copper IUD, but I already get hellish cramps every month and hear the IUD can make it worse? Has anyone gone through with it anyway who can allay my fears? Is it still worth it to all the already crampy ladies?

I got paraguard and love it!...now... at least..lol. the first few months can be rough!! I had the worst cramps and the worst bleeding ever!! I even told my doctor that I was really thinking about taking it out. those symptoms usually only last 3-6 months. I told him I'll give it 4 months and if it doesn't get better I'll get it taken out. the cramps and heavy bleeding lasted 3 months and it was worth going through that. good luck!

Ugh. Still so torn. My cramps and bleeding are already pretty bad, so I can't imagine it getting worse, but as a traveling professional, I love the idea of the peace of mind it could offer.

I have had mine for about 5 years the cramps are awful about makes me sick every month. Today actually I had to leave work due to them being so bad scheduled to get mine out on Thursday. And the bleeding too dear lord it's crazy.

I had the copper IUD for around 6 months to a year and had it removed because of the cramps. I tried to suffer with them, but they really made my life miserable when I had my period. That's not to say you'll have the same experience! But I've never experienced cramps like it - it was so bad I felt like I could be sick.

I've had the paraguard almost a year and I'm getting it out next month. The cramps did get more painful but my issue was the extremely heavy bleeding.
