IUD string and fingering

I am going to get the skyla iud next week and I'm having second thoughts and in need of the opinion of some women who have had the IUD. Bear with me it's a little graphic, but I don't know where else to turn to for an honest answer. My boyfriend regularly fingers me, and pretty vigorously. I was on the nuva ring before and he and I did not like the ring for this reason that you could feel it when we were having sex and when he was fingering me. That's why I wanted to switch to the IUD but now my concern is will he be able to feel the string with his fingers? Or will he be able to feel it with his "member" or be poked when we are having sex? I read various things online that says the string has poked guys so hard that it made them bleed, i've heard that the strings can get a mucous over them and you're not able to feel them as much I've also heard that they curl up, I know everyone's experience is different but I would love to hear some one on one answers thanks!
