Do you ever get hospitalized for anemia?

I have iron deficiency aneima, my hemoglobin is 9. Do you get hospitalized if it goes too low? What hemoglobin level is way too low and do b you get hospitalized?
P.S. I'm thirteen

Ask your doctor. This is a conversation you need to have with them to make sure your diet/vitamins are keeping your levels high enough especially while on your period when your levels can decrease.

Hospitals usually don't tranfuse until below 7. So they probably won't admit you till its there. Even then if you are chronically low they may let you even go lower. It's definitely something to address with your pcp though. There is ways too help with anemia before it gets to transfusion low.

No need to worry you are still good. Just eat pomegranate, oranges, carats, apple and some protein drink.
You can measure the change in a month.

That is a bit low. I've been chronically anemic because of kidney disease. A doctor will normally put you on iron pills and if your iron stores are too low, possibly do an iron infusion. See your doctor though.

If I remember correctly, normal is 12 and I will also be below that during my period. There have been times to where I have been turned away from donating blood cause my iron was too low. You can take supplements to help with that but talk to your doctor first.
