So here's a little back story names have been changed to keep them anonymous ... I tried to throw my son a 5th birthday party I invited my mother in law and my niece who is up from Texas my friend sue and my cousin jane and all her kids I kept in contact with them the whole day I already new my mother in law and niece were coming my mother in law lives downstairs from me and my niece is staying with her but I asked sue if she was coming several times she said yeah I'll be there at 6 asked my cousin she said yeah I'll be there around 6:30-7 ok no problem 6:30 rolls around I call sue "is jane there yet?" I say not yet so she says she's going to wait till jane gets here in case she needs an extra car to bring all the kids no biggie 8 rolls by I call my cousin " I'm doing hubbys paperwork I'll be there when I can" ok not a problem 9 30 rolls by my kid is begging for cake and I'm telling this kid on his birthday he needs to wait. Finally I get a call at 9 45 from my cousin and sue there at my cousins house drinking coffee I know because I hear the kids screaming in the back round sue says she can't come she got called in to work which would have been fine if 1 she didn't lie and 2 if her can job really did call her in but again this was not the case my cousin tells me she has to rush her kid to the ER because her 4 year old cut himself trying to cut a banana with a butter knife which again would have been fine if she didn't lie and even if he did in fact cut himself with a butter knife where were you what were you doing that was so important why did he have the butter knife to begin with.... anyways tho so she invites my to her conjoined birthday party for her son who is turning 5 and her daughter who is turning 11. I don't know if it's just the fact that my son has only three people go to his birthday party (his father was at work away from home mandatory over time which he made up to our son by bringing him to see cars 3 on father's day) or the fact that this poor kid waited till almost 10pm to have a piece of cake and ice cream and only had one person sing him happy birthday (mil had an emergency with her best friends sister and needed my nieces help I heard the call and it wasnt good she had a heart attack so totally understandable) or the fact that he got really excited to have his cousins come play with him just so they didn't he was heart broken he even asked me why no one came I felt like the biggest failure ever. So now I don't even want to go to my cousins party and I haven't spoken to her since she texted me an invite and I never responded should I be a good sport and go or should I say hell no why do I have to attend all of your parties and you only have to attend to one of mine. (My son's first birthday) she's the type where if it's not about her she don't care....so should I go or not opinions please and don't be rude
