Sexual flusteration!!!

How do you handle having very different sex drives? I feel like we should be able to compromise...but he doesn't feel like that's the case. I am a very sexual person and have an extremely high sex drive compared to my long term boyfriend. I'm flusterated sexual because we so rarely have sex and I'm horny.

Is there a way to talk to him so he understands how big of a deal this is? We have sex maybe 2 or 3 times a month and I feel like I'm going completely insane. Cheating isn't an option for me, and getting myself off isn't the same, because it's not so much the orgasm for me as it is the physical closeness I feel whenever we are making love. Tried talking about the issue, but he just says he is getting older and that I fulfill him sexual in other ways.
