no babies 😔

hi everyone I'm new to this app and I've been reading everyone story and thought I would share mine.. sooo here I go! I'm 35 no babies I've been with my husband for 16yrs on n off he has a 13yr old son. My period is very irregular I was pg once when I was very young and decided not to keep it cause how young I was. since then my periods are very weird I probably get them maybe 4 times a yr sometimes extra heavy and sometimes very light. I started seeing a fertility Dr and he gave me a sonogram was told I have pcos was also told my left side has very little activity.. im not sure what that means. I was given some pills to start my period and on my 3rd day on muy cycle I went in for labs so they can check my hormone levels, I go back Friday to see what's next. they did tell me they might start me on metformin. anyone else in a similar situation? I'm very anxious I've been taking prenatal vitamins but idk what else I can do. I'm scared about my age and I wish I would've started this process sooner!
