Could I be pregnant?

My husband and I decided we would wait awhile before having another baby (I have a 6yo daughter from a previous relationship). My period came on yesterday (as scheduled) but it was very dark and spotted. I didn't even fill a light sized tampon. Well less than 24 hrs later, I'm no longer bleeding, however I'm still cramping. I don't wanna alarm him yet, but I'm a little curious.. I'm gonna take a pregnancy test but I'm interested in what y'all think.. could I be pregnant?
