Your c-section experience?
Hi all, I have a question. I have been planning on a natural birth the whole way through. Well I'm 39 weeks and I started contracting and everything looked great. But I've only been dilated at a 2. So this morning we went in again because my contractions still hadn't stopped. And after an ultrasound, they found that she is breech, which explains a lot of why I haven't dilated any further. My doctor said they will try to turn her back into head-down position on Monday, but if they can't successfully turn her, and if she hasn't turned on her own, then I need to have a c-section this week. My question is this. I haven't considered c-section like at all. And I am so scared to have one. I have heard the pros and cons of natural labor but I don't know what the pros and cons are to a c-section. I don't want the description of a c section in books and stuff. I really would love to know personal experiences and preferences. What happens? Will I get to hold my baby? Will I be awake? How long is recovery? What are the things no one will tell you about a c section? And for those of you who have had both natural and a c-section, what did you like most and least about each experience? This would help me so much you guys. I am so scared. No one in my family has ever had a c section. I'll be the first one. So I am blind and needing information. Thank you all so much!!
