16 weeks and cramps!?

all of a sudden i'm having bad cramps in both sides. feels like tightening. i'm nervous as to what it is?
16 weeks today with twins i'm laying down on my left side sipping water 
anything else i should do?

You are saying "on both sides", does it feel like really painful pulling? Or are they really cramps like menstrual cramps? If it's pulling - 16 weeks is right about time when I started getting the round ligament pains, and they are not fun at all! What helps me is standing up and leaning back and sideways a bit, away from pain. 
If they are cramps - I would call your doctor just in case. Good luck!
