I think pretty much all big cities have really rough parts that are hard to grow up in. I've never been to NYC or Detroit myself though. But I know like Chicago, SF, Oakland, and LA to name a few aren't picnics to grow up in (in the rough parts).

All large cities have rough parts and nice parts. I mean there are scary parts of London lol. Either can be lovely, and either can be pretty scary.

When we say "harder" what exactly are you referring to? Finances? Crime? Housing? Education?

Oakland, California. That place can be super rough. Depending on where you are. You have to be very well knowledged to know where to go and where not to go out there. It's whatever though. I guess I'm saying that because I'm used to it.
