14 days late & I've started spotting???

I too am 14 days late. I've never been more than maybe 4 days late in my 17 years of menstrual cycles; except when pregnant. however with my 4 other pregnancies I've always got a positive as soon as 2 days after missed period. still BFN. not even spotting... but I'm have numerous pregnancy symptoms. I feel like such an idiot... I should know one way or the other by now if I'm not. I'm lost. my DH says maybe it's time for a blood test, he's convinced I'm pregnant  (since I'm never this late)...
