My absolute favorite are a brand called Aiden and Anais. The fabric is awesome, soft and absorbent. They don't have that plastic feel to them.

I suggest the Maxy moo moo brand off of Amazon. I work in an infant room, and have a set of twin toddlers and that's what's used at work and for my girls! I got them when they were teething at 5 months and they still use them for drool at 19 months! They are amazing quality and work SO well. They have fabric, a layer of plastic and then another layer of fabric so it's not all scratchy.
