Does birth control affect chances?

Question

I got off birth control pills in September and my husband and I have been TTC since then. Every month since then has been so disappointing every time I have my period. And I have a long cycle, so it's even more frustrating because it's a long wait. I keep getting my hopes up and then...period. Before I stopped taking my birth control, I had been on them for 8 years. Could it be that my body is still not back to normal yet from all the years of trying not to get pregnant? I need help ladies! Any suggestions are welcome too.

Have you tried OPK to make sure that you're ovulating each month?

That's how it was for me with our first.  I had been on BC pills for about 6 yrs before that and it ended up taking us around a year and a half before getting preggo.  This time I had the copper iud so no hormones and this is our first cycle trying for #2, so we will see.

Do you remember what your cycles were like before the pill? I got off in August and still no luck. Cycles have ranged from 36-52 days. I started clomid this cycle. In high hopes. Good luck.

I totally understand you!! I was on yaz for 2 and a half years. I got off of it oct. 2013 and have been trying since. The homest truth those pills did wonders for me. I wouldnt be hormonal all moody during the time.of the month and i would never experience bloat any of that. Before bc i had a very consistent period every 28 day! Well honest truth for me just til about augusy 2014 i could finally feel my hormones going back to normal just my whole body in general was finally going back to normal so for me it has honestly taken awhile to get out of me but either way a year and a half later i still havent been able to concieve. Dont lose hope though! We are all differnt a normal time to get prego is within a year after bc. Some take 3 to 7 months to get prego so just keep trying and dont stress out. We are all going through this together!!

I was on birth control for about 10 yrs before recently going off in January. I know it hasn't been long but my cycle has been quite off as well -much longer like yours then normal- and it can be frustrating and disheartening. You're not alone!
