How many ounces of formula?

Noleen • Married summer 2015
Hi, can I ask how many ounces of formula your babies are on and what age they are? My baby girl is 7 weeks and still on 4 ounces every 4 hours (5-6 hours if she is sleeping). When reading up on it, most babies seem to be on much more at this age.

I'm glad you asked this question. I googled it earlier today. Sounds to me like you're right on track! Baby girl is 10 weeks old and usually drinks 4oz every 3 hours. But, the past few days, she has been drinking 6 ounces. They will definitely let you know if they're still hungry! She still goes back and forth with the amount. We always make a 4oz bottle and wait a little bit to see if she really wants more. We don't want to over feed her because she has really bad reflux and is on medication for it. I think as long as the baby is doing well with weigh at check ups, you're all good!

On the side of my formula bottle it says that from 8 weeks on they're meant to have 6oz 5 times a day (which works out at the 4 hours) my son was on 5oz from about 5 and half weeks and drank it all fine so about 7 weeks I moved him up to 6oz.. but tbh in the last week and half he's only been drinking two bottles of the 6oz and the rest he only drinks four. My midwife said to me it doesn't matter what amount he's drinking just as long as hes gaining weight and seems content, so don't worry :) as long as your LO is happy and gaining it doesn't matter! Hope this helps :)

Our little is 8 weeks and he's drinking 2-4oz of formula every 3-4 hours, and at night he can go as long as 9hrs between feedings while sleeping. But we use formula after a breastfeeding session since I don't make enough, so how much he's genuinely getting I'm not sure, but I don't imagine he's getting more than 4 ounces from breast in an entire day. I tried 4.5oz and it's just too much lol he didn't even come close to that

daughter is 10 weeks and eats 4oz every 2 hours when awake. She usually takes two 3 hour naps a day and will do a 10 hour stretch at night.

My daughter is 7 weeks and drinks 5 ounces every 2-4 hours during the day. She's going through a bit of a growth spurt at the moment so some days she needs it more often. But at night she sleeps almost all night so her bedtime bottle is 6 ounces and her morning one is 5-7 ounces depending on how long she slept.

Have you tried a faster flow nipple at all? My LO was getting fussy during feedings and not eating what she had been. Went from 5 oz to maybe 3-4. Finally it dawned on me and she is drinking full feedings again and back up to her daily oz intake.

My son is 9 weeks and has been eating 6 ounces every two or three hours during the day and pretty much sleeping through the night. We started him on the 6 ounces when he was 4 or 5 weeks old.
