When to tell your employer???

When did everyone tell their employer about their pregnancy?

I told mine around 9wks as I started vomiting at work very heavily, and it started to impact my attendance.

I told mine about a week after I found out. I work in healthcare and although its a low risk job I still work with patients who have illnesses that I just flat out shouldn't be around like shingles and TB and MRSA. So I woukd say if safety is a factor, sooner than later. Telling your HR is very private if you don't want everyone else to know.

I work as a Care Assistant in a high dementia dependancy unit and told my clinical nurse and colleagues on my training week (when i was almost 10 weeks pregnant) as working 13 hour shifts with only 45 mins break streched between the whole day, and working around individuals who may cause harm to myself ect 😊 Im now almost 18 weeks and find it barable i was just so nervous to tell them after i found out i was pregnant after my interview lol

I'll be telling after he first trimester. I'm a teacher so will tell my principal probably at my first evaluation with her sometime in September.

I think it depends on your job and if it starts to effect your performance. I ended up telling mine because morning sickness started to effect my attendance. Plus I ended up having some 1st trimester complications that I was put on bedrest for a week and then half days for week.

I'm a vet and while I haven't had to deal with this yet, I'll tell my boss as soon as I know. There's lots of safety risks working with large animals, certain diseases and forms of treatment so I have to tell them so we can make arrangements for me. Otherwise I'd probably wait until the second trimester at the earliest.
