Getting Necessities For Your Shower

Kazzod

I noticed women on here upset that their showers only included or mostly included clothes as gifts. While clothes are appreciated some moms-to-be would prefer the basics. We just had our shower and we're pleased with the outcome of gifts.

When creating your registry minimize the amount of clothes or don't put any at all. Guests will buy clothes anyways and from stores they choose. We left newborn to 12 month onesies on ours and no one purchased them. Not a big deal, they are cheap.

Raffles! Diaper raffles are the most popular and make sure you advertise it for the shower. It will give guests more incentive to purchase a pack of diapers along with clothes. That's what happened at our shower.

Games! May be try to create a game where guests bring pacifiers or bottles as gifts. We did a spit the pacifier game and beer chugging bottle game. Make sure to say they must be newly purchased. Then after the games you can just wash, sanitize, and keep them for the baby. Only if you feel comfortable with your guests to do this. As a result we have lots of pacifiers and bottles.

If you don't want to do a raffle for the diapers, but have creative guests, try doing a diaper cake challenge. But this could get tricky if they make it so the diapers aren't useable.

These are just some suggestions to help motivate your guests to purchase a few items you may really need. Make sure the registry on your invites is eye catching and not in small print. Hopefully you will get lots and lots of diapers.
