I was 10 and waited like 2 or 3 days to tell her after I started my period. Then after dinner I was in the car with my mom (dad was in the other car, thank god) and I was just like "mom I have something to tell u" she was like "what" and I just said totally straight forward "I started my period" and she turned and looked at me and was like "omg ok yay!" Then she took me to the store to buy pads and told my dad for me and my dad was like whatever about it which was nice. Plus I have an ok relationship with my mom but it took a lot of courage to tell her face to face, but I know she was happy that I told her in person.
