im scared never had one before! Does it hurt????? Will they check me if i can't have any kids???? Or if my ovaries and everything is good inside ?

It takes just a minute or two. They put the speculum in and just swab your cervix. It doesn't really check your ovaries or anything. It checks the cells on your cervix for any cancerous or precancerous cells. While these things may impact your ability to get pregnant, this isn't exactly a fertility screening. A lot goes into consideration when deciding whether you can have kids or not and a pap smear wouldn't be able to rule that out.

It doesn't hurt at all. Just relax. A pap smear is just a long cotton swab of inside. Like a strep test for your vagina. You'll be fine. But bring a book or make sure your phone is charged. Those appointments can last FOREVER.
