Dilation but baby hasn't dropped?

Question

I'm just wondering if any of you have been told your dilated but baby still hasn't dropped yet? I'll be 36 weeks on Sunday and my first appointment to be checked is Monday but my little guys still hasn't dropped, so I'm just wondering if there's any hope that I could possibly be dilated! With my first I didn't dilate at all until I was induced at 41 weeks.

I wasn't at all dilated with the first one 3 days before I went into labor. Kiddo had dropped almost a month prior and low as hell. 
With the second I was 1/2cm in the 20something weeks and 3cm starting at 36 weeks or so. Kiddo was still floating the morning before I went into labor.

Yes, I was in labor with my second child and got to 6cm and my baby was still high so I had to get sat up higher in the bed and then she dropped immediately!
