Help Please.‼️

Okay, so I am 19 years old and I have always had unusual periods, since I have started having them! For the past year, I have been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend, we aren't trying to conceive but, we wouldn't be unhappy if I were to become pregnant. But, like I said it's been over a year now and I've never even missed a period. It is actually scaring me really bad, like could I have fertility issues? I would be crushed if I was unable to have a baby of my own, that is all I want in life! My question is, could my period being so irregular make it harder to get pregnant? Should I get on birth control to regulate my cycle, would that help or make it worse? Someone please answer me, I am so so scared something is wrong!
