How can i deal with an autistic child?

Do you have any tips that i can use when I handle this autistic 4 year old at summer school?

Set clear expectations and consequences. Print out a picture schedule and go over it often saying 'first we have snack then we go outside'. Give ample time warnings like '5 more minutes to play outside then we have nap time', '2 more minutes...', '1 more minute....' 
Sometimes the child can get overwhelmed and overstimulated which can lead to a meltdown. Take the child away from the main part of the group and let them have a break, take a breath, have a quiet time. Whatever you want to call it. Maybe even if the child has a designated safe zone like a quiet area in the corner of a large gym(i dont know what type of facilities you are using) specifically for them with books, a comfy chair, some sensory/fidgets items, etc. That way the child can retreat whenever they need to. 
Often some children will have an item they love and want to hold on to. For a boy in my class, it was a plastic dinosaur figurine. When we would have trouble transitioning him from outside to inside, we would say something like 'it's time to go inside. When you come inside with me, i have this dinosaur to give you.' Or if the child wants to take something that's not his or won't stop playing with a particular toy, offer the reward toy/item.  For example, that same boy in my class loved puzzles. He wouldnt transitionnuntil he had completed the puzzle he was working on. We'd say something like 'it's time to have snack at the table. Here, ill trade you the puzzle for the dinosaur when we sit down'. 
Be patient. Ackowledge their feelings--'i see that you're upset. I see you're sad we had to come inside' etc. Try to find what they like and make it available to them. You want camp to be fun for them. Remember that they are like any normal child--they just have autism. They are a child first though.

Be patient and maybe get down on their level. I have worked with autistic children in the past. I was a Sunday school teacher with a room full of kids, 2 of which were autistic. I found that you can't just say their name and expect to get their attention like any other child.... It led to frustration and eventually upset the child because they didnt understand why you were frustrated with them. Walk over to them, kneel down on their level and look them in the face when speaking to them. I never had one ounce of issues when I figured out how to hold their attention like that. They would do anything you asked if you just communicate in the way they need.
