Car seat in the middle or side??

So I've seen many different people put the car seat in the middle of the car and I've seen some put it on one side. I have mines in the middle because I figure if I get into a car accident the middle would be the safest place. What's your guys opinion? Where is yours?

My sons is on the side, has been since he was around 2 months old. It's much easier for me to get him in and out with it on the side and the car seat has been side crash tested so that gives me peace of mind. And now that I'm expecting #2 there's no way they could both be in the middle of course so my daughter will be on one said and my son on the other

if backwards facing the middle but keep in mind anything that goes through the windshield won't be stopped by a seat. its also harder to get baby out. most people put baby behind the driver seat

Middle is safest if your car has the hookups or straps available, mine didn't so based on fire dept recommendation it's behind the passenger seat

The middle is actually the safest place. I have to put mine on the side tho because I have a toddler who is taking up one side so a carseat wouldnt fit in the middle

Middle seat is the safest for your child's car seat!! Has anyone seen the real but terribly graphic pictures of mangled and smashed vehicles?! I'm absolutely dreading putting one of my children on the side of a car! Who cares if it's been crash tested! If a car t-bones ya at 60+ mph it'd be a miracle if anyone survived the direct path with just a car door and thin car seat for protection 🤦‍♀️

Middle is best, but passenger side is fine too. Just not the driver side.

Put both carseats (partner's car and my mother's car) in the middle so we in the frint, plus my son, can have more leg room
