advice....

one of the Drs in my practice said he wouldn't do a membrane sweep because it's a unnecessary mess... I had one with my youngest who is 5 yrs old now and within 24 hours I had her. Anyways, I would like to have it done this time, I will be 39 + 2 at my appt tomorrow. My s/o will only be here till Sunday to help me, because he starts his new job Monday and will be 2 states away. Should I ask again anyways and explain my situation, I know they dont always work, but in hopes of having our son and having help, I would think they might sympathize. Or should I just wait?
