mamaroo okay for newborns??

so i just bought a used mamaroo for $50 and im wondering if i can use it for newborn immediately or have to wait until hes a few months old? my mom said newborns cant be in swings but i bought it so newborn can be in it for naps or just to play.

we have the mamaroo... There is a newborn insert you can buy that keeps their head better positioned!

Mamaroo has an infant insert which helps with a newborn but I'd say after 10lbs, it's unnecessary.

The mamaroo is fine for newborns. It's not really a swing since it moves much slower. The old school swings were pretty jerky and didn't really have neck support. A lot of the newer swings are basically bouncers that can swing.

I'd feel better about putting a newborn in a swing tbh. The mamaroo doesn't recline as far back as our fisher price swing does, so baby doesn't seem like he's being cradled while in it like in the swing.
