To young for deodorant??

Question

My kids father called me today and told me he was sending him home with deodorant because he is starting to smell.. my son will be 7 years old next month.. my son has been gone for a month and i know a lot can change in that amount of time. I just really feel like he is too young for deodorant.. what are y'all opinions??

at that young age I would do something entirely all natural first. I don't like the idea of slathering chemicals on a growing kids body....

There's no age minimum for deodorant if the kid is starting to stink. It's a good practice now anyways for when his full funk starts in Jr high or whenever and he's already in the habit of putting it on everyday. Besides, it's deodorant, not hair color or a piercing or whatever.

I think 7 is pretty young but if he's starting to stink, it might help. when I was a kid most of my friends didn't start until 5th-7th grade (aka when puberty starts to set in). just make sure it's only deodorant and a NOT antiperspirant!

my 5 and half year old boy wears it when we go out.  he sweats really bad and stinks so we let him wear his Daddy's old spice. he loves and says he a big man like daddy

My youngest brother started around 8. My mom gave him Crystal deodorant (at more natural than regular deodorant) and he definitely needed it!

My daughter started at 7. She told me she smelled like "rotten onions" and I came home with deodorant for her lol!

my son is 8 and uses it 1 time daily i get him degree because its easy on their delicate skin

I don't think age has anything to do with it, and if he is starting to smell like BO it'd be good because kids at that age could quite easily mock him for it. Go with something natural, and I've heard antiperspirants are not good! Maybe he just needs to bathe more regularly?
