is it illegal to leave flyers in people's windshields parked on the street? I went a local neighborhood and left a few our our flyers to promote our business. Then I get a call from someone saying that they left a flyer on their vehicle and it's a $50,000 dollar fine. Now I'm worried that we will get in trouble 😣

If you get caught putting flyers on cars, LEGALLY the judge has the right to charge you a fine for EACH trespassing offence committed. In other words if you go to 1 parking lot and place 500 flyers on 500 cars, that is NOT 1 trespassing offence, but rather 501 counts of tampering with private property! The average fine for such an offence is $500, which means, the judge could make you pay 501 $500 fines for a grand total of a $250,500. Still think it’s worth the risk?

I'm not sure what your local laws are, but a $50,000 fine sounds like BS. For perspective, where I live just straight up littering is a fine of about $1,000 and people leave fliers on my car all the time. I highly doubt the fine, if there even is one, would be that high.

Hmm. It's solicitation so I think it depends on where the car is, if it's in a public place, a private residence, parking lot, outside of a business that states "no soliciting" on it...I'm not sure though.

Lmao uhhh at my high school, we had roughly 3,500 parking because the other 2,000 rode the bus to school (freshmen and sophomores), and I came out to the parking lot one day & there were flyers on every. last. car. If one of the commenters is right that each car is an offense of $500... 3,500 x 500... shit man, they could’ve been charged 1,750,00... not worth the risk. 😬
