placebo pills?

I still don't fully understand birth control but I just hit my placebo pills on my second month. can I just skip them and start my next pack and avoid my period? would it change anything?

Answer

Yes you can skip the sugar pill and just start your next month. Sometimes this causes spotting during the next month but not always, it's just something you should be aware of so you don't freak out later one. There is no evidence to suggest that skipping a period is bad although I wouldn't recommend skipping it all the time

Theoretically you can but skipping the sugar pill week can cause you to spot throughout the next month instead of just getting your period for he week you don't have to take the placebo pills so long as you remember to start your new pack on the beginning of your new week. Everyone is different and your body may react fine to simply starting a new back I wouldn't make a habbit of it every month but give it a try and see how your body reacts and if you have any concerns or questions talk to your doctor about them!
