Would your child sharing the same physical feature that you hate impact the chance of you changing it?

Say if you've always hated your lips and wanted lip injections would your chances of actually getting them decrease if your child also had fine lips? My and my twin have always hated our noses there's not anything wrong with them it's just the typical "Jewish nose" I got mine done when I turned 18 and she told me she wants to get hers done but her daughter 4 has the same nose as her and she wouldn't want make it seem like she needs to change anything about herself etc.

Yup. I'd want to show them, the nose isn't a big deal. And that you don't have to change yourself to be pretty

No. If I say I hate something I really mean that I hate it, and as much as I'd want my child to be happy, I want to be happy too.I don't have to tell my child I'm changing it because I hate it 🤷‍♂️ and chances are it would be something so minor they wouldn't notice, or something that would generally be under clothing anyway, so I don't think it would devastate them.

Growing up I always hated my nose and even saved up money in my teen years to get it fixed. As an adult I changed my feelings about it, as my grandma, father, and sisters all have the Same nose and it helps me feel connected to them. If I have a daughter and she gets the family trait, I hope she will value the identity it gives her. If I changed mine, it would definitely show her the nose was a problem to start

I'm not sure, but I think if it was something that always bothered me I'd fix it. If it became an issue for my daughter down the line and it continued to be something that bothered her, when she got old enough, I'd allow her to have hers fixed too.

I don't think there's anything wrong with changing something you don't like about yourself regardless if your child will have it, whether that certain feature caused you physical pain or emotional pain. Each person is different and can feel differently about their features, what you hated about yourself, your child may actually like having for themselves. And if they hate it, I don't think there's anything wrong with being on board with them to change it if that's what they truly want for themselves, as long as you make it clear to them they are still beautiful even if they have it and keep it. In the end, personal choices are personal choices.

I don't like the dark circles under my eyes,  and my daughter has them too. (I've had them since childhood).   Before I had kids I wanted to get rid of them but ever since I've seen her mimicking me and how I speak about my body I wouldn't dare touch them.   She is perfect just the way she is and it's made me love and respect myself in a whole different light.

I don't think there's anything wrong with changing something that will make you feel better. It great to love every part of you, but it's also ok if you don't. I don't like this stereotype that changing something means you're doing it to be pretty for others. Your own view of yourself still matters.
