Is cheating ever okay??

Question

So in the past year I was in an very maipulative borderline emotional & mental abuse relationship. I wont go into details but I ended up cheating twice cause I felt it was the only way he would leave with out trying to kill himself (I was wrong). Was it still wrong for me to cheat??

It's best to not cheat but when you are stuck in a terrible situation and you need to have your needs met then I think it's fair. No one will agree with me but I don't think you are a terrible person for wanting your needs met despite being in situation.

Yes it was still wrong?! Honestly that'd probably fuck someone up even more. No matter what the situation you don't cheat. You just leave. if he was being suicidal you should of called 911, and block him after that so you're out of that situation completely.

You should have left him and called the police if he said he would do it. Cheating is never the answer. It's not like sex is necessary to be safe. You could have handled it way differently.

If your feeling trapped and being mentally broken by the person who is meant to love you it's hard, you get lonely and you get sad, they make you feel so bad that you feel like a horrible person, all it takes is one person to show you that they find you attractive and like you as you are and it all goes from there, your not a bad person your just stuck in a situation where you can't escape as leaving isn't an option when they blackmail you

i honestly think you should of just left or tried to talk to him. Also, help him see someone if you thought he would kill himself. cheating wasnt the right way out of the relationship. If he has issues and you think he would kill himself...cheating would make it worse. open doors to "she didnt love me" "she lied to me" "no one cares about me" "can i trust anyone" if he had issues that needed to be addressed cheating isnt the way to go around them. No it wasn't right for him to be mentally abusive. Two wrongs never make it right. You could of told him it was over and changed your number n block him or ask if you two can be friends and see if you can get help for him if he was depressed. either way cheating wasnt the best. option and only make things worse.

No. In the case of abuse, I don’t believe so. Anyone who hasn’t been through abuse truly wouldn’t understand.
