Flying tips?

I'm doing a 4.5 hour flight for the first time with baby this Sunday. Did you bring your regular stroller and car seat? I didn't buy an extra seat am I going to regret that? Any tips?

Not sure which airline you are using but try to go with southwest if you can. They will let you preboard the plan before most of the other passengers and they have open seating. What I do is take my car seat through and then ask before I board if there are any free seats. Then they will let you use one of the window seats for your baby if there are any available. If not you still have the option of finding a seat you feel most comfortable with(go for an aisle seat)

I've flown with my LO now both with my husband and without. On my own I totally wished I had an extra seat just for the space. He was so squirmy I was constantly trying to make sure we didn't annoy the crap out of our neighbor and kick or elbow them constantly. When my husband was with me it was fine because we could spread him out between the two of us.

When I flew with my baby, I attached the car seat to the base and checked it with my baggage and used my stroller in the airport and checked it right at the gates. I tried babywearing but we were way too rushed due to traffic and it was a disaster.

Babies under 2 fly for free so you don't need an extra seat.baby wearing made it so much easier for me, I've flown with my daughter already 4 times. Stroller and car seat get checked for free, so that's good. I found that buying early morning flights or late night flights worked better because she would more than likely sleep the whole flight.

I bring my regular car seat and stroller and put the base underneath while going through the airport (depending on how big/old your baby is). I take both of them to the gate, attach the base to the car seat, they give you a tag to put on them, and leave it right outside the plane's door

Brought our stroller, glad I did! Held baby when I wanted it to, held the diaper bag while I held baby in the terminal. Bring extra milk/formula if you bottle feed, toys, and a paci or feed during take off/landing. Extra clothes and diapers and plastic bags for any poopy diapers or clothes

The stroller is up to you. We travel with just the car seat (check it and put it in a check bag) and our baby carrier. We usually rent a car so not too much room for a stroller, luggage and pack n play. We don't get a separate seat just yet but if I were traveling alone I might spring for it.
