Effaced but not dilated!!??

Question

Went to my appointment today 36w3d. Due date August 15. Doctor checked and said I am NOT dilated but 60% effaced.. is head down and making her way to the birthing canal, but not quite there yet! for the past 5 days I've walked 2-4 miles everyday. 
Anyone else have this situation, and could this be ANY sign she'll be here soon?? So so ready to meet her!

We have the same due date! I had my first check at 36+6 and wasn't dilated at all and pretty sure I wasn't effaced at all either 😞 it was very disappointing ! praying something happens before I go back next Monday for my next appointment!

I'm 36 +6 and was checked today. I'm 2cm and 50% thinned. She said her head is low and can feel it but my cervix is tilled back and it hurt A LOT:... time to start walking walking walking

Friday I was 50% effaced and 0 dilation at 36 weeks and today I went and now I'm 37 weeks but no progress, still 50% effaced and 0 dilation. My due date is August 14th but wants to induce me August 8th

Girl I feel you I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow, 4 1/2 cm 70% effaced and my babies head is not engaged I've been in prodromal labor since 33 weeks my sons had steroid lung shots and they said he's ready but stubborn

Wow I'm jealous! I went in for my 37week appt and I was 0cm and not even effaced enough to give an estimate. He said baby hasn't even lowered into the canal at all. 😓

I have the same due date and at 36 +1 I was also 50% effaced but not dilated. I'm not ready yet so hoping she stays in a couple weeks longer!!
