How much to feed 4 month old daily?

My baby wants to eat, like, all the time. I'm scrambling to keep his daily amount under 32 oz but it's such a challenge!! He wants a bottle every 2 hours now and wakes up at least once a night for a feeding. We give him 4 oz at a time.
How much does/did your baby eat a day around this age? TIA!

breast milk or formula? this could just be a growth spurt. my dd usually goes every 3 hours but during her growth spurts she wants to eat every 1.5-2 hours again. she gets 4.5-5oz of expressed breast milk and has been that way since around 3.5 months when we upped her bottles from 4oz at her doctors recommendation. she started getting teeth around 4-4.5 months and wanted more milk for comfort too. and at his age, waking up once at night is totally normal. I'd just worry more about daytime feedings.

Try giving him 6oz bottles instead. It should help keep him fuller for a longer period of time. My 4mo old had a 6oz bottle every 3-5 hours. He also gets cereal for breakfast and dinner. That might help your LO! Good luck!

My daughter is 2 months and eats 5 ounces every 3ish hours. She sleeps through the night (10ish hours) so her first bottle in the morning is usually larger. Typically around 8 or 9 ounces or so. She's averaging about 35 ounces a day.

I should add he's already high up in his percentile for weight so this is why I worry.

my six week old eats 5-6 ozs every 3 hours during the day.  in the morning he drinks 8. only because he usually sleeps untill 530am. he drinks about 28-30 ozs already....have u tried just letting him eat what he wants and maybe he wont eat so often??

Also have you started solids/baby food ? That might help. I read they don't gain as much weight with baby food because it doesn't have as much fat as the milk. My second is 9 months now and he eats 8 baby foods a day and maybe 12-20 ounces of breastmilk a day..he's like in the 25th percentile for weight.

I had the opposite problem. It was SUCH a challenge to get my son to eat. Literally had to distract him with toys etc . I think he never had more than 24 ounces in the day. Have you talked to your pediatrician about it? Maybe you can sub some water during the day once or twice. But I wouldn't worry too much about it.

My 4 month old now eats a lot as well so we started giving her around 6-7 oz and mixing cereal in her milk to fill her up more.  Around this age milk doesnt fill them up like it did as newborns.
