Weekend away at 36 weeks. Good idea?

My Mum has booked a weekend away for all of us, including my partner and his 4 year old son, but it falls when I'm 36 weeks pregnant. The nearest hospital is 42 minutes away from the holiday park and the hospital I've chosen to give birth in is 1 hour 8 minutes away. Do you think it's a good idea if I go? (We'll be travelling by car and it's 59 minutes away from home).

I would confirm that the hospital near your vacation spot has a NICU and would be prepared to deal with a preemie (which your baby would be considered at 36 weeks should something happen). not all hospitals have nicus.

You could very well go into labor at any time. Definitely ask your ob, but if an emergency arises, the other hospital will be fine to deliver at. Or if you start to feel "labory," hit the road, and head home.
