Pulling on ears?

My daughter has been pulling on her ears recently. My husband thinks it is just because it is something she has discovered, but my mom thinks she may have an ear infection. As far as I can tell, she isn't acting differently and I don't think she has a fever (we need a better thermometer 🙄). Has anyone seen their baby do this? Is this cause for concern? TIA!

I've read that can be a sign of teething.

Babies do all sorts of weird things just because they can!! Unless she has a temperature I would assume she is just exploring herself!!

It's also a sign that they are tired along with discovering them. And can be a sign of ear infection.

Teething? when their teeth are pushing through; it sometimes causes a pain in their ear. to relieve pressure they tug. Or they just discovered their ears and like to tug. my MIL insisted my baby had an ear infection cause she was always tugging. Told her she was fine and just teething. my SO made an appointment to get her ears checked; her doctor  said she looked fine and there was no irritation at all.

Eleanor was doing this and had a double ear infection.. She keeps doing it now and her ears are fine.

My little one does this when she's teething. I even think it corresponds with the side of her mouth that's bothering her.

I too have noticed my daughter playing with her ear but no other issues. I think she just found it bc she also will scratch and rub the back of her head. All new stuff.
