When did you convert crib to bed?

Question

What age? Our crib turns into a toddler bed and he can crawl out now and we cannot lower the crib. He's only 17 months but wanted to see what other moms have done.

When they can get out of the crib, or are in danger of hurting themselves by trying to climb out.

15 months when she able to get out, escape artist!!!! Plus she slept better no bars to get legs and arms stuck through

I waited until our son climbed out. He was  2 yrs 3 months before he did this.

I did it extra early because my daughter never liked being caged, lol. About 12 months I would say. She learned to climb out of our bed the right way before she could walk at 11 months so climbing out of hers was no issue. We just got a small step stool so she could climb in on her own. She's 21 months now & sleeps in hers throughout the night. She can climb in & out on her own without her steps.

As soon as it's on the lowest setting and they are trying to or able to escape, switch to toddler bed. Too many risks for injuries if you wait.

I wanted to do it at 18 months, but we got lazy and couldn't afford the toddler bed. He's almost 3 and still in his crib. He loves it and has only climbed out twice. I think we have to do the switch soon, though.

He was 18 months when we put him in a toddler bed. He turns 4 in June and thinking of getting him a single bed for his birthday.
