VBAC!?!?!

Question

Any lovely ladies had a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section)? Usually after 2/3 sections you are advised to have another section due to complications that may arise during natural child birth and rupture of old previous scarring.  I have unfortunatly had to have two sections and hate them, they are worse than natural child birth! Am planning on number 4 baby and going to opt for a VBAC if and when I get pregnant.  So has anybody ever done the VBAC, if so if you have to fight for it? We're there complications, and would you advise others to go for it?

Where I am from it use to be that women were not given the choice but laws have changed now and it's become a human right to decide what you want etc.

Just want to get other ladies take on this?

I've had 2 c-section I'm pregnant now due in August I wanted to a vbac but after much research and talking to my ob specialist we both decided for my health and the health of baby I should a c-section once you've had more the one c-section the chance of vbac is very slim

Told my doc I wanted one.  Ex husband didn't back me during labor.  No complications just a doc who believed once = always

I'm going for a vbac with this pregnancy. On paper I have a 66% chance of a successful vbac. Only reason I needed a c-section is because during labor and pushing we found out my son was face up and my pelvis was to narrow. He got stuck and failed to descend.

You need to start looking into local OB policies on whether they're VBAC friendly or not. Get a doula! Take a childbirth class if you can. Get your partner on board. As long as you're more than a year out from your last c section, your risk of uterine rupture is exactly that of any other pregnant woman. Also, do not induce if you can avoid it! Most VBAC attempts that start with induction sadly end in another c section.

I had an emergency c-section with my first 8 years ago & have had to fight to be allowed an elective this time round because here once you've had 2 that's it, no natural birth.

My mum had me by emergency c-section & then my sister 2 years later naturally with no complications but that's only after 1, had she had 2 c-sections then natural birth would not have been an option.

I just had a successful VBAC, but if you've had 2cs, then you are looking for a VBA2C. My hospital was supportive of VBAC, but there's another hospital in town that refuses to do them, they will refer you somewhere else. You may find it harder to find a hospital supportive of a VBA2C. Mine was treated just like a normal birth except they required continous fetal monitoring and I had to have an OB instead of a midwife. But everything else was the same as a normal birth.

They highly support them here, depending on the reason for your Csection and how long it's been since the Csection.  I guess, ultimately, it's up to you and your doctor.  (And then, the baby!)

I refuse for risk of uterine rupture and complications. It's all personal though..I talked to nurses and my OB and will again as this baby gets bigger.

Well it's been 8 years since I had a section and I really don't want to go through another, child birth is a breeze compared to sections, it's the after pains that is the worst and you can't drive for weeks after as you're not insured to do so.  Am gonna avoid it as much as I can, my fellas sister has had two sections, optional sections! Because she didn't fancy giving birth naturally, I think she is bonkers!

Nope, but I heard you risk having your uterus rupture and after five years it's usually safe to have one. IDK about after having so many c-sections though. Some doctors won't even do it after having one.
