Is this a stupid gift idea?

My boyfriend is away at a military-style camp for two weeks where I can't talk to him at all. I've been having a bit of a hard time and I'm missing him a lot so I've been writing him letters to cope since I can't talk to him at all. I didn't necessarily intend on giving them to him but I thought that maybe I could give them to him as a little gift kinda thing when he gets back? I just don't know if that's stupid since it's only two weeks or if he'd think it's overboard or something? We've been together for 3 years now. I still don't wanna come off as over the top/clingy/too attached though, so please be honest with me haha
