Is anyone taking Metformen?

Question

Doctor gave me Metformen to take today. She said it is to help fertility.   Is anyone else taking it? Has it worked for you? How does it make you feel? I am to start taking it tomorrow. She said it will make me nauseous and have a little bit of diarrhea. Yay me!  Lol. So i am to start of by  taking a little dose then gradually go higher to the 1 tablet 2x a day. Any help?

I've been on and off metformin for 10 years Bc of PCOS. It helped me conceive number 2,3, and 4.

I starting taking it June 21st I believe for my pcos and I ate sweets the second night on it and let me tell you it was bad 😂😂 I was on the toilet with the worse diarrhea ever .. so avoid sweets for a while. Now that my body is used to it I can eat my candies without running to the toilet.  I had a faint positive a few days ago but not sure yet. Could be evap but I do have symptoms and stuff. Waiting to see but I heard good stories from people on metformin. Good luck !!

Omg.. the diarrhea is killing me.. it seems like i just look or think about food an i have to go to the bathroom!  How long before it went away for you guys??

I have diabetes and take Metformin for that. The worst part about taking Metformin is the diarrhea, but once it's had a chance to get into your system, it becomes not as bad. I didn't know it could be used for fertility reasons. My Boyfriend and I are TTC and since I'm 36, I'm freaking out about my age, old eggs, etc. Nice to know that something I already take can help me.

I'm on Metformin 1500 mgs, this is month 2 just about.. I just got my first period on it and it's lasted 13 days. I had diarrhea and nausea in the beginning but it went away after the 2nd week. I have Pcos and that's why I'm on Metformin!

Well doctor said it was to help with fertility and help me ovulate. Since i had my IUD taken out in 2015 my cycles have been crazy. I would say that i have only had about mm maybe 20 cycles. So the doctor said it will help me get my cycles back to normal too. Im just not looking forward  to the diarrhea part.

I've been on it for a month, no baby yet, and the diarrhea still hasn't gone away! 😭

I take that and it makes me feel the same way crampy nausea and diarrhea but has helped with weight loss and hoping it helps fertility soon
