Abortion?

I've never had one, but wanted to hear women's stories on why they decided to have one? I don't want to start any arguments but I want to hear womens thoughts on this.

I had a medical abortion 9 years ago. I was kidnapped and rapped for 2 weeks straight. When I found out he got my pregnant, I decided on an abortion. I can honestly say I don't regret my decision, and never have.

I had a medical abortion at 6 weeks. I was so scared but it was actually a very good experience. I'm glad I did it. It's rly not as bad as it seems and as long as your 100% sure on your choice emotionally you should be good too! I did what was best for me and my husband at the time. We were not ready and the option was there.

I was 19 and in an unstable relationship, away from family members and working up to 70 hours a week. I also lived in the hotel I was working in. I am glad I went for an abortion (at 8 weeks). It was the right thing to do. It was not a nice experience and was quite painful.

I was 19 had *just* gotten away from my abusive ex,  and I found out 4 weeks later I was pregnant. It was the best decision I made but for some reason I felt compelled to contact him again to let him, it caused me to spiral into a deep depression  (NOT the abortion, the contact with the ex) I'm glad for that decision everyday. If you're asking because you are trying to talk you're self into it. .please think about it and your situation.  Do NOT base your decision off of other people's thoughts, struggles and stories. When it all comes down to it, it's what is best for you. Sure a lot may come from an unexpected pregnancy but a lot comes with ending one too...but people don't talk much about that. I had one due to listening to all the negative ppl around me and my newly wed husband cheating on me with a striper...(i divorced him). I was young just turned 19 and I took the abort pill early on and I fell into deep depression for 2 years and baby's would make me sad and cry , I could not go around one for the longest time. It was hard. The whole situation. I can't say I regret it or that I dont..but somewhere in between. I'd never do it again that's for sure. I only share this because it may help you in actually following your heart and gut feeling. Don't be scared, don't be afraid to be judged. Everyone has there own opinions and that's fine.

I had an abortion about 2 years ago. I realized that, after perfect use of birth control (no missed pills, no contraindicated drugs, same time every day,) that I was pregnant anyway. I have issues with my heart- a valvular defect. Pregnancy would have been life threatening- an already weak heart combined with pregnancy could have led to an aortic dissection, massive stroke, heart attack, or congestive heart failure. I had an abortion at 6 weeks. My husband was with me the whole time, and I remembered being so grateful for the fact that I got to choose life: my own.

I've been asked why I didn't just get sterilized. I'll tell you: because, being (at the time) under 30 and having no kids, I was turned down by doctor after doctor, being told that I would change my mind and regret it when I'm older. My husband inquired about getting a vasectomy, and was told the same thing. We're still trying, 2 years later, to have one of us approved for sterilization.

People have called me all sorts of names, shamed me, tried to make me feel like a horrible person- and words really hurt. Please, even if you don't agree with abortion, even if you have strong feelings- try to be kind. Calling people names or throwing guilt trips out will cause people to shut down. It is very easy to judge when you are not the one making the decision I made.

I had one at 19. Me and the would be baby daddy decided it was the best decision. I took the abortion pill. It was a 3 day process and incredibly painful.  I had to take 2 full Xanax bars and an Ambien to block out the pain. I threw up and was on the toilet constantly. 
Still had major cramps rest of the week.

I cried alot and felt guilty at first but didn't regret it..still dont. I would make the choice again if needed.

I had a medication abortion at six weeks, my boyfriend and I had just gotten out of a rough patch and were healing our relationship. We'd just decided to begin planning to start our life on the opposite coast, and that would've been the end of that. Both of us have big plans that do not involve children, and there are too many unwanted or unappreciated children out there, and having been one myself, I don't want a child until i can devote myself fully to it. I have no regrets, it was the best option for everyone involved, and one of the best decisions of my life. It's only brought my SO and I closer together, and we are about to embark on an incredible journey, whereas we'd be stuck in this miserable town with a baby if we hadn't made the right choice.
