what's better to start off with...?

so im undecided on what to get. This will be my first time moving out of my parents house. im so relieved and excited but my boyfriend wants a house instead .. I actually want an apartment but he's saying it's better to get a house so we can have our own privacy and have all our shit in one place . i think i agree. but should we rent first or buy? we dont have. kids yet. Im 24 and he's 27.

I said buy. I wasted 10 years paying rent and bought when I was 28. I could cry when I think of all the money I wasted. I could have knocked 15 years off my mortgage with all the money I threw away in rent. Plus you waste even more buying things that fit in a place you don't own. And you can't buy nice stuff cuz it just gets scratched and dented when you inevitably move somewhere else. If I could do it all over. I'd buy. For. Sure.

It really depends. If you're planning to move at some point soon, I would rent an apartment until you get everything settled. But most of the time I say try to buy a house as soon as possible, and never rent a house.

That's not really a question we can answer for you 'cause so much depends on where u live, what's available to buy, what's available to rent, & what u can afford, also u need to have good credit to buy. Keep in mind when u work out how much u can spend each month if u buy u need to not just factor in the monthly mortgage payment but also money for repairs & higher water/sewer/garbage & electric/gas bills.

Rent is so much that it's way better to save up and buy your own little house.
Rent is NOT worth it... id rather pay $1000+ a month for say 5 years, than $900 a month forever

My husband and I are renting an apartment currently, but since the month we moved in, we've been talking about renting a house once our lease is up. Trust me, apartments are not fun lol, I was the one who talked him into looking at apartments rather than houses, and I DEEPLY regret it. Like the other women said though, if it is possible for y'all to buy, I would definitely recommend it.

I would definitely say buy a house. Don't wait, because if you do wait, you'll be wasting TONS of money on rent... my husband and I are currently renting an apartment because he's in the Navy and we won't be staying anywhere permanently until he gets out, and it makes me cringe every time I think about how much money will be going out the window in these 6 or so years 😭 if you have the ability to buy, definitely go ahead and buy.

I honestly hate apartments because what your Neighbor has you have (roaches bedbugs etc) they are loud and you have people in your business and you have rules to follow and stuff and footsteps oh naw and if they have children it will send you off the walls.
