I'm 41 and pregnant with my first and have six weeks in the books. (Yay!) So genetic testing will be encouraged by my dr, I'm pretty sure. I would love to know gender as early as possible, but I'm not sure the benefit of knowing if there are genetic abnormalities before birth if you would not terminate the pregnancy. I'm afraid that if there is something wrong that it will just put a pall over my pregnancy. Does anyone have a clear idea of benefits of knowing something is wrong genetically before birth?
