I am carrying pretty small, so was surprised to find stretch marks beginning to grow on my stomach a few weeks ago. They have grown even more since, and I kept finding myself struggling with the idea of having them. But, then my 8 year old cousin innocently asked me about them and her mom told her it is rude to ask people about them. I decided to tell her "these are stretch marks. lots of people have them, even your daddy, on his arms from growing so fast. mine are growing on my tummy from my baby growing really big before she comes out. now, like your mommy said, most people don't want to talk about theirs because they think they are bad. but, you know what, I think all pregnant women are so beautiful. and I think my stretch marks are beautiful too, because it shows that I grew a beautiful little girl in my belly, just like how your mommy grew you in her belly!" And it was then that I realized I needed to take my own advice and embrace these stretch marks! ❤ who is with me?
