Why do you think it's like this?

I apologise if this isnt seen as controversial. 
From experience I have noticed that if you aren't religious in any way or do not have the same religion as a person it appears to be acceptable to say things such as "you need church", "I'll pray for you", "you are like the way you are because you don't believe". Basically anything to insinuate you are a bad person because you do not believe. 
But if you flipped that around and started commenting on someone's religion that is 100% not acceptable. 
I would never comment on someone's religion because I dont care what you believe as I don't think it changes the person. The only one time I spoke up was when my mother's friend, a Jehovah Witness, told my mother not to get a blood transfusion when she was dying because its against her religion. 
So why do you think its like that? Have you ever made these comments to non-believers? Do you think it's right? Which do you believe to be acceptable or not?

I only say “I’ll pray for you” if someone is using their religion to hate. It really grinds their gears, which is the best part lol. But as for saying it to someone without a religion, idk, it just sounds condescending.

I think it's just due to personal experience. Also, a God fearing Christian may see it as their duty to spread the word or Christ. My mom tells me all the time that she'll pray for me lol. I just kind of laugh. I'm not insulted by it, but I just think it's strange how upset she gets that I don't believe in God. Well I guess it makes as people don't believe go to hell.

While I may not believe in a god or religion, I definitely don't comment on others religious beliefs. 
You are free to choose what you believe in and live your life the way you see fit. 
I don't condone whatsoever someone saying their beliefs in religion is wrong or it makes them a bas person. 
Find your enlightenment however you want, but don't shove it someone's throat.

You see it both ways. I see snotty Christians on here saying "I'll pray for you" in a condescending manner. I've also seen non-believers mocking religious people for believing in a "fictional sky fairy". I think both are equally rude.

There are people who use their religion to be condescending jerks, and the majority of religions people that don't aren't as visible, so it sometimes feels like a pile-on. I think for every obnoxious religious person there are five who never mention their personal faith.

Because religion gives people a sense of superiority, no matter how hypocritical it is. It's funny because most of them aren't following their religion they way Jesus would want them to anyways. I think saying "I'll pray for you" is the most condescending response someone can post. And my response is usually "oh really? Thanks. I'll think of you while I'm on the toilet."

If I am debating theology with other Christians, I will make t known that I believe they are incorrect but I try to no belittle them or use derogatory language (I may have in the heat of the moment, but it would still be wrong of me). But I don't tell people of other faiths that they are wrong, I just tell them I believe mine is correct. I also don't pretend to know that I know more about their religion than they do (because I don't, I don't practice it, therefore I don't have an intimate knowledge of it). My faith has been criticized regularly (and I don't just mean this app, I mean Orthodoxy in general, especially with everyone up in arms over Hank Hanegraff's conversion, if y'all know about that). I don't care if someone mocks my faith, that's fine. What grinds my gears is when someone who is not Christian tells me I don't know what I'm talking about or assumes I'm misinformed instead of trying to understand where I'm coming from in a theological discussion (I try to ask where the other person's understanding is coming from sot hat I can communicate better). 
I don't generally tel people "I'll pray for you" unless they've asked because it sounds so condescending in a debate.

I'm Muslim and I believe without doubt that there is a God, but my mum does not believe at all. This has always upset me because she has a lot of mental health problems and depression, and I've always wondered if having some kind of faith in God would give her more strength to deal with those difficulties. So I pray for her, but I never tell her I'm doing that and I don't think she's a bad person because she doesn't believe. Nor would I expect her to find God in the same religion as me. Everyone is on their own journey in life and it is not my place to judge or comment. But it is natural as someone who has faith to want others to find that same joy if it's meant to be.

Everybody has made comments to someone that doesn't believe the way they do. Not a single person is perfect. It happens from both sides, I have seen it personally on here from more people that don't believe in God than people that do. Not sure why you're complaining about it.

As a Jehovah's Witness, I would not force my dedication to my religion/ God on anyone else. Yes, if I was dying I would not get a blood transfusion, without a doubt. But I would always not force or voice my opinion on anyone else or tell someone who is in that situation that their decision was just out right wrong. I apologize on the other Witness's behalf, we are human and make mistakes, but our intentions will always be to help those come to know Jehovah God and the truth about what is written in the Bible. 
I also think people are like this when they are heavily dedicated to something, it's hard to have self control, but I do believe it is a MUST so that we don't come off offensive or rude.
