I have 12 and none of them hurt for me. I have one on my inner elbow and the sides were uncomfortable but nothing I couldn't handle. But i have an amazing pain tolerance.

I think it depends on the person's pain threshold. It's also a completely different kind of pain, it's not unpleasant or anything though! I have 3 big ones, my biggest one I sat for 7 hours and was absolutley fine! it does also depend on where you have done, I think it's worse on fatty areas because it nips more whereas when it's on bone I find it more comfortable! everyone is different though!☺

If it helps, I have nine tattoos and only the wrist one hurt. Second most painful was the hip I think just because it's a fatter area on me. There are things you can do to minimize the pain like lidocaine spray (my tattoo artist used it on me and it helped). 
I've got one on my back, wrist, inner arm, ribs, hip, leg, calf and collarbone.
